Ready in 20 minutes
Serves 4 people
ingredients
1 lb. Green beans
1 Tablespoon avocado, vegetable or grape seed oil
2 ½ Tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
2 teaspoons rice vinegar
2 teaspoons honey or sugar
1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic or ½ teaspoon Spice House granulated garlic
1 teaspoon peeled, grated fresh ginger or â…› teaspoon Spice House powdered ginger
Spice House Toasted Sesame, Five Chili Fever OR Argyle Street Stir Fry seasoning for topping, depending on your flavor preferences
Preparation
Wash, trim and cut green beans in half
- Whisk soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger and honey (or sugar) in a small bowl. Set aside.
Blanch green beans: Boil water in a pot. Fill a large bowl with cold water and ice to create an ice bath. Add green beans to boiling water and cook for 3-4 minutes. Drain green beans and immediately add to the ice bath to stop the green beans from cooking.
Heat 1 Tablespoon of Avocado, Vegetable or other high smoke point oil on hight heat in a large skillet or wok.
- Add green beans to skillet and cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes, until beans start to brown and blister. Toss occasionally until the green beans are blistered and cooked, about 6 minutes. Don’t move the green beans around too much or they won’t blister
- Add soy sauce mixture to skillet and cook for about 30 seconds longer, until the sauce thickens and coats the green beans
- Top with Toasted Sesame Seeds, Five Chili Fever and/or Argyle St Seasoning, to taste, and enjoy!
