Lady Baltimore Rose Mallow
Hibiscus moscheutos 'Lady Baltimore' has soft pink flowers with a bright red eye and a cupped shape. The leaves are dark green and lobed. At maturity it stands 4-5 feet tall and blooms in late summer. It is hardy in zones 5 -9. The name Hibiscus came from the Greek word “hibiskos” that meant “marshmallow.” The sticky root or stem of some plant in the mallow family was used at one time to make marshmallow confections.
