White flowers are produced at nodes along the stems followed by clusters of deep red, almost black, fruit whose flavor resembles cherries. Plant in a frost free climate in full sun in moisture retentive well drained soils and water during droughts. It can be grown in a large container on the patio as long as it is brought indoors before the first frost and overwintered in a warm, humid, brightly lite environment.
