This clump-forming perennial produces showy blue flowers that attract butterflies in May and June. It reaches a height of 2 feet under full sun and in dry-to-medium moisture conditions. This native of the mountains of southern Europe makes an ideal component for a mixed border. Mountain bluet is free of debilitating pests and diseases in the Chicago region.
