Gwen VanderBurg leads marketing at the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, where she connects people to the Garden’s mission through compelling storytelling, brand strategy, and audience growth. She is passionate about building meaningful brands that inspire engagement and drive sustainable revenue in support of science, urban agriculture, and education.
Gwen spent 16 years at Kraft Foods in general management roles, leading large businesses and stewarding iconic brands. She built products grounded in deep consumer insight and led cross-functional teams to translate strategy into growth and strong financial performance.
Raised on a pure-bred beef-cattle farm in Pennsylvania, Gwen developed an early appreciation for agriculture and the systems that sustain it — a perspective that continues to shape her leadership and sense of purpose. She earned her undergraduate degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and her M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management.
