Kevin Malover, CIO

Kevin Malover, chief information officer of the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, is also the founder and principal consultant at CIO Services, a firm that provides IT strategy consulting using an on-demand chief information officer (CIO) model. Clients get the benefits of having a technology executive with deep outside experience available to them on an as-needed basis for advisory services, strategic planning, interim leadership, and project leadership. 

Before launching CIO Services, Kevin was the chief information officer and EVP of strategy at Transdev, a global transportation company. He led the strategic analysis of digital disruption by Uber and launched the company’s competitive responses. He built strategic mobile, data analytics, and digital marketing teams to compete effectively with disruptive newcomers. He led technical due diligence that resulted in the acquisition of three software companies to expand and diversify Transdev’s capabilities. 

Before joining Transdev, Kevin was the chief information officer at GTCR, a leading private equity firm, where he rebuilt the IT team and digitally transformed the back office with new infrastructure, CRM, HRIS, and finance applications. 

He was chief technology officer for the 2007 – 08 Obama for America campaign, where he developed the online platform that ushered in a new digital era in presidential fundraising. Unlike any in the past, this campaign embraced technology to connect with constituents and donors through social networking. 

Kevin was a member of the founding management team at Orbitz, where he served as chief information officer. He led the launch and explosive growth of the online travel site that quickly became one of the most popular, attracting more than a million visitors per day. 

Kevin began his career in telecommunications at Ameritech, where he learned and applied best practices in engineering and operations to improve performance, efficiency, and reliability. He integrated complex systems and supported large-scale computing and data networks. 

Kevin holds an M.B.A. from Oakland University and a B.S. in mathematics from Lawrence Technological University.
