The Rocket Goldenray
This ligularia has large, heart-shaped leaves up to 2 feet. They have purple veins, are edged with exaggerated teeth, and are borne on purple stems, making them quite dramatic. The foliage is mounded at the base of the plant, although some leaves are also borne on the tall flower spikes. The flowers—small, bright-yellow daisies—are borne on 5- to 6-foot-tall spikes. Use this ligularia as a bold accent or a pondside plant. With its large leaves and tall spikes, it provides a bold accent.
